Pretty much the same thing here. All the stations just recently switched over to the "summer blend" so all the prices went up 10 or 15 cents.

On a related note... over the last nine months crude oil has been on a very slow rise, almost unnoticed. Gas prices are starting to rise now as well even though the cost of producing a barrel of crude has gone down. As this is a long term trend it is at least possible, if not likely, that we'll be paying more at the pump during the upcoming travel season.

Same price here, unfortunately price increases on groceries and other essentials are much higher and are hurting a lot of people, but I'm not surprised considering how much the cost of doing business has increased over the last 2 - 3 years.

Yes, obscene isn't it!
My truck has a 130 litre tank and it was at 1/3 full. I topped it up last week it took $90.

I was just in Creston BC on Saturday and fellow Mason who owns a station said that his pumps were set at $1.36 Canadian a litre. Man that is pricey.

A good part of the problem is the increase in carbon tax in certain provinces. The amount of tax that is currently being charged on fuel in Canada is obscene.

Current breakdown on tax on gasoline for my area (Ontario):

$0.10 per liter in federal tax
$0.147 per liter in Ontario fuel tax
13% Sales Tax (both provincial and federal)

The 13% tax is paid on the federal and provincial fuel taxes as well.

So, let's say the actual cost of fuel is $0.75/liter
Add the federal tax: $0.85
Add the provincial tax: $0.997
Add the sales tax: $1.127/liter
Total tax $0.377 per liter

Different provinces add different tax amounts, and a couple of municipalities have added their own. So, let's look at Vancouver for a second, which is where that image came out of, based on the same cost of $0.75/liter

Federal tax: $0.85
Provincial Fuel tax at $0.145: $0.995
Provincial carbon tax at $0.0667 : $1.062
Vancouver Transportation Tax at $0.11: $1.172
Plus federal sales tax at 5%: $1.231/liter.
Total tax: $0.481/liter

If you are looking at traveling to Canada, get an idea on average price per province...it varies a lot.

Assuming ND = North Dakota, I've read about that. They are desperate for people to work because nobody wants to move to and live in North Dakota.

Here in Southern California we are paying $3.80 a gallon for the cheap stuff. To make it even worse the wife and I are headed to Vancouver Island this Summer for two weeks. I can't escape high gas prices.
