What wrong with passing on the right. It looks like it a multi-lane road, that legal.

I do it all the time. Too many people get the middle lane and plug it up. More and more semi's do it now, too; they do 65 mph in the middle lane. If you're doing 75 mph (not with my TT, of course) and others coming up behind you are doing 80 mph, it's often better to pass the pluggers in the middle lane on the right.

I try to stay in the right lane at all times unless I need to pass or I see someone getting on at an on-ramp.

While growing up, I was always taught that slower traffic kept right, and you passed on the left. Even in drivers ed when I got my drivers license in 1973 that was the norm. But everyone drives like idiots now. Weaving in and out of traffic, driving down the breakdown lanes. It's like people go to Kmart and get their license at a blue light special.

Clearly.....whatever people learned or were educated with back once upon a time to get their license, has been forgotten too long ago to recall. The time between then and now has become a distant memory if at all.

Today....too many people figure driving has become a right, instead of a privilege and we see things like this way too often. Their comeback to situations like this is always the same....

And this wasn’t even seen in an RV Park, by the way........

Lol. He passed me on the left/inside lane. When I caught up to him he was on the right. I got in the left lane so I could see more of the rig(DW taking pic).

This pic exemplifies my thoughts on the issue. Just because it is "legal" doesn't mean it is a good idea.

Driving today has just become another form of combat. Drivers take offense at just about anything and often employ their vehicles as weapons. Some even end up shooting at other drivers for the dumbest of reasons.

When I'm towing I like the RH lane. Hard to get PO'd at someone just going with the flow over there. The Left lane seems to be the bone of contention among drivers today.

Drivers today, in many cases, do totally stupid things. Just up the road from my house a driver stopped, drew his gun, and shot at a pickup that had passed him and given him the finger. Driver of departing truck was hit in the back of his head and killed. Even when no guns are involved how many have we read about being killed or injured due to road rage? And it's getting worse. We all need to remember that while driving. That other driver may not respond in a same manner if you honk, flash high beams, or pull in front and slow down ""to teach them a lesson".

Things you see in an RV Park

The 18 wheelers now tend to drive in the middle lane to avoid the on/off traffic. I will and do pass them on the right when necessary, although they are normally running faster than I am.

It's only combat if there's two combatants. If someone wants to be an ahole behind the wheel, I let them.

We should all be required to take a driving test every five years. It'd weed out some bad drivers.

I'm a USFS certified chainsaw operator. I need to get re-certified every couple of years. Every time I do the training/re-certification exercise I learn something new and discover some bad habits. This model would, I think help us to be better drivers (or get us off the road, when it becomes time).

I question the level of instruction these kids get in their driver training class, and just how tough the test is to get a passing score and thus be able to get a license. Lots of incompetent drivers out there and not just young ins.

Ha what driver training classes. Most school no longer have and must use private folks to learn but most folks choose not to pay. Ya just can't fix stupid and our folks driving the police cars just them run rampid. Until we get law enforcement involved to crack down it will just get worse. Later RJD

I doubt that testing would weed out any bad drivers. Most would be on their best behavior for the test. Then, after passing, would go back to their texting, putting on makeup, eating, and aggressive behavior.

Citations and fines don't mean much anymore. When I was a new driver a $50 fine was a fortune. Today a lot of people just look at fines for traffic citations as a kind of "toll" for using the road.

Make fines a significant part of ones income and they would change their driving behavior most ricky-tic. Most traffic fines in my state are around the $125 area. Just about what one would pay for a Friday night dinner and a drink or two. Heck, if you show up in court, the Magistrate will even cut the fine in half, maybe even turn a speeding ticket into an equipment violation so your insurance co won't see it.

There isn't mandated, or state funded, Drivers Ed in Georgia. It ended back in the late 80's or early 90's.

As for how hard the tests are when I moved here from N.C. I had to take the written part of the motorcycle endorsement test. The test had 50 question...I missed one...without opening any books. It was all multiple guess questions with only one remotely possible correct answer. I'd love to know which one I missed but they wouldn't tell me...

Howmany are driving with no lic., suspended lic. etc. Testing won't weed them out.
