Well said Mountainman. I don't really care what most celebs are doing and don't care to share my daily doings with them either.
I use Twitter quite often and I'm 37. I'm not sure if you are a sports fan or not, but it is by far the quickest way to stay up on current events for your favorite team or sport. I also use it as a marketing tool for my business. The social media world is evolving at a quick pace and if you don't get in board, you may just get left behind!

I am not retired yet but hope to sometime within the next 10 years or so. I already like being "left behind". Our world is dominated by cell phones and the rat race these days. Personally I can do without alot of it.
If you're over 30 and tweeting, its grounds for (a) losing your man card or (b) execution.

I personally do not twitter, but know many people that do. It has it's advantages and disadvantages just like other things I guess but I am just not into it ATM; plus my cellphone is 'lost' almost 50% of the time anyways....
