I was in IT for 30+ years. Programmer, systems analyst, project manager, disaster recovery specialist, etc. I was with a major bank for 29 years, through 3 mergers. In 2002, my job moved to Tampa, and I took early retirement and began coaching figure skating and teaching hockey basic skills. When DH retires from his job in IT in a few more years, I will probably fully retire, especially if we finally score a grandkid.

I am retired from the Air Force, serving in the medical field. After that retirement I have been working in the Radiology department of a rural hospital in central Texas.
My wife followed me around the world. Now she is an education coordinator for the local Headstart. Now she does the traveling while I stay local! Haha

Wife is the TAX lady, me, I'm just a bum......sitting on the stoop at morning coffee shop, burn'in one, a lady came to pick up her called in order but wasn't quite ready, so she came out over to me, handed me $10, told me to get something to eat.....wow, new gig....watch for my sign on the off ramp. (PS) I move around, from ramp to ramp.

Twenty three years as commercial pilot and private contractor flying people and goods around the world. Five years as an electronics tech after retirement from flying. Retired now and trying to pry my DW away from her desk. She owns a homeowner's association management company that just keeps growing. Gotta get her away before she reaches critical mass!

I am an Optician, author, lecturer, consultant. Have been doing this for 40 years, now. Travel a lot, mostly flying, but I love to travel in our RV. I've done a couple of speaking dates on the road. That works for me. I could retire that way.

I was an engineer - initially as an apprentice at British Aerospace (it was English Electric back then). I switched to the machine tools industry, then Norton motorcycles. In view of the crappy salaries UK engineers were paid, DW and I and two kids emigrated to the US, in 1968, when I got a job with Boeing.
Fast forward 29+ years and I retired. Got cheesed off with retirement and went to work as a transit coach driver for our county transit agency. When they opened up some express commuter routes that hit the road at 04:40 requiring a report time 20 minutes earlier, I decided I was "fully" retired.
That was 6 years ago, and I haven't felt the need to "un-retire" since! Unfortunately, the reduced income has forced us to give up the RV lifestyle.
