Thank you - and I in no way am ashamed of our FW. What I meant by "bells and whistles" is I haven't done any mods like some of the people here have done - simply because we are happy with the way it is.

I've had an opportunity to meet a lot of the forum members from the trips and rallies we've done over the past year. Great folks, one and all. And some are even well-behaved, too!

Lol you should have reserved that statement for exceptions to Goshen 2013! especially were as I'm concerned! Lol
I've only met one member from frf so far and had a good experience.

Talked on the phone with several members as well with great results!

DW had those. I removed the clanger from the bell and took the pea out of the whistle. IMHO they both sound alot better now.

B-47, my dad was on the flight line down at McConnell AFB in the early fifties..........
He really like the plane, was the B- 47 one of the first to use JATO? I have been enamored with planes since I was a kid, I dont have the stomach for flying. I get Air&Space each month and I read it top to bottom. I guess I'm in love with the ole radial engines......
I go to U Tube and watch and listen to them do a multi engine start up. Thats if I'm not on here.............. jdadoug

worked in the sixties for Lockheed working on EC121E and H aircraft, also known as the radar connies. Nothing sounds like a 3350 engine running.

As far as I know, the B47 was one of the first, if not the first military airplane to use JATO ( Jet Assisted Take Off). I know some early model C-130's also used a smaller version of it at one time.

Radial engines are an enginnerring marvel as far as I am concern - but I am scared to death of spinning props ans always tried to stay from them
