    sorry just noticed your PM now. I supported the front of the trailer with a floor jack and then unbolted the tongue jack from the frame. 3 bolts attach the jack to the trailer frame behind the coupler. I rotated the entire jack counterclockwise 1/3 of a turn to so it lines up with the adjoining bolt holes. Then bolt it back together. The power jack head is now facing "sideways" and clears the dropped tailgate.

    How did you rotate the jack? Just the head? I saw it on youtube but with no explanation how it was done. I attempted it but found that the electrical head didn't turn.
