We tow with that exact truck, get 11.2 mpg and never have a problem. I KNOW our coach is loaded to its GVWR - I've weighed it. We have been up and down steep grades - 7% in 4 miles. I use the cruise control, engage the two/haul and the exhaust brake as soon as I hook up. I have also had air bags installed which keep the truck/trailer level. The Pullrite, Super slide hitch and the Trail air hitch pin make a nice combination.
The formula for grades is, for example 4% grade, next 4 miles: there are 5,280 ft/mile. 4% of a mile is 211'. So, the net elevation change in 4 miles is 211'.

Hey there ... I just put a deposit on a 2014 GMC 2500HD SLE Diesel, with the factory installed towing package/option. I'm about to order a Cedar Creek 36CKTS loaded with all offered options. To this we'll add some solar panels and a battery bank for boondocking. Is this truck going to have enough muscle to pull this coach ... probably stuffed to about its max GVWR? Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, John
