bean, my ref to KISS was to remind me that i was getting in left field with suggestions to take ur light project to something other that a light replacement. KISS=Keep it simple stupid...i have to remind myself of that from time to time.
I can follow schematics but am not firmiliar with the use of microprocessors. i would probably opt to use flip flops or something i'm a little more firmiliar with. i have a degree in electrical/electronics but never applied it. so, in 40 yrs, i have regressed. i also have an advanced amateur liscense and had a first radiotelephone at one time (that was converted to a general radiotelephone liscense when FCC discontinued the 1st.
go for it, if u can keep the cost down, u should be able to make it fly.
looking at some of the things i'm seeing people buy (including myself), it appears that inovation is more importiant than practality.
