I hear you and I think part of the issue with the 272RL is it can get tongue heavy since all the storage is in the pass through up front and if that's the case the f150 runs out of payload. I've heard of people getting the f150 Payload Package but apparently those truck need to be special ordered so trying to find a used one is tough.. If you're planning on buying new it might be something to look into.
Hello Jim - Just got our 2018 272RL and the 2018 f150 ecoboost max trailer package the tail end of the fall so not a lot of experience towing just yet. When we went for our first ride I thought I made a big mistake... Anything over 50 and the trailer was wagging all over the place. Before the next tow I adjusted the hitch ball 3 inches higher and it towed much better. I still don't have a much experience towing this combination longer distances so not ready to pass judgement just yet. I'll know more this next camping season... How are you making out with yours??
