Florida F.R.O.G. Rally 2016

I am excited to let everyone know we are planning the second annual Florida F.R.O.G. Rally! The dates are Thursday, September 15th through Sunday, September 18th. We will hold the rally again at Williston Crossings RV Resort in Williston, Florida. Plans are being made and we are open to ideas and suggestions. We had a wonderful rally last September and were able to make good friends! Please do not contact Williston Crossings to make reservations yet. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up for planning purposes. When I receive the paperwork from them and have an idea of how many sites they can accommodate, I will let you know.

What does FROG stand for?

CampingGator 03-17-2016 09:43 PM

Forest River Owners Group. The rally is open to anyone who owns a Forest River product. There is information on many of the rallies under the link on this forum and there is a separate Forest River Owners Group website that you can join.

aceinspp 03-18-2016 09:45 AM

Thanks for the heads up. See what we can do. Later RJD

AWESOME News Sheryl!

Anne-Marie and I will try our best to make this year's rally!

CampingGator 03-18-2016 11:10 AM

I am so glad that you are both considering the rally! We had a great time last September and are looking forward to another rally. Tentative plans are to have the same schedule as last fall with a meet and greet the first night, covered dish dinner Friday night, and a catered dinner with band on Saturday night. Depending on the band's availability, we might have to swap those two nights. We certainly are open to other ideas, including lunches or breakfasts. Please throw out ideas that interest you.

poppytoymaker 03-18-2016 12:10 PM

That's right down the road for me, cheap trip lol. Where will the info be posted here or FROG?

Valhalla 03-18-2016 12:12 PM

Great to hear! We are only a couple of hours northeast of Williston. How can we stay updated on details as they come through?

Herk7769 03-18-2016 12:38 PM

As we are not related to the Forest River Owners Group (FROG), all registration and contact with organizers must be through the link on the FROG web site FROG - Forest River Owners Group only.

As always, tips, photos of past rallies, current info on what is coming up, and what to do in the local area of the rallies is encouraged.

As a reminder, not all FRF members are FROG members and vice versa (though we would both love them to be!).

Twinkie 03-18-2016 01:10 PM

Sounds great to me! I haven't been to any FROG rallies yet and this one is just about 2 hours from home, so it's an easy drive. Will be looking forward to details!

I will post information here as it is determined, but yes, the information will be located on the Forest River Owners Group website. We always have a lot of discussion in this forum, as folks can ask particular questions and make their plans known to others.

Yep! Trouble comes when there are too many cooks working the same party. Don't ask how I know :o

johnruff 03-18-2016 05:06 PM

sign me up, just up the road and we would love to come to our first FROG rally

Life Without Whine 03-18-2016 07:32 PM

keep us on the list ...glad you are scheduling this far in advance! We know of a great band out of Orlando that likes to camp (but don't know their price) .... Check out the Bloody Jug Band!

CampingGator 03-19-2016 06:09 PM

I'm glad we have had good response this early! I have heard from a few that were at the first rally who plan to attend as well.

Kevin and I are so happy your two will be able to make it!!! We so enjoyed spending time with you last September. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas you would like to see or do.

Congratulations on your first post!

FlaFSUmom 03-20-2016 07:09 PM

You and Kevin did such a great job last year we know it will be another "great rally". Just let him know we loved the mini egg lunch so much that now we have a mini egg so if we need to cook for more we will be glad to help with ours as well. 🌭🌭

I'm glad you like your egg! If we have a few, maybe we can do a mini egg fest and cook a variety of items for folks to taste. That would be fun!

Great! We had two other couples from Louisiana join us at the September rally, as well as a Lazy Days rally earlier this month. We would love for you to come,

campbuzz98 03-21-2016 10:47 PM

I just picked up my new camper on Saturday and this would be a great opportunity for our first frog rally. My wife and I can't wait to get the details for registering and meet frog members.

CampingGator 03-22-2016 12:58 PM

Williston Crossings does not want us to call to reserve our sites until sometime in April. They are very busy with the seasonal snowbirds right now. They will call me to let me know when we can have everyone start making their reservations and I will in turn let you know. Thank you for your understanding! I just wanted to get this advertised early so folks can start planning.

aceinspp 03-24-2016 07:06 AM

Well struck out again. DW had made other arrangements about a week prior to your posting and I was not aware of it. So guess we try for next year if you have another. Later RJD

Well, I am disappointed you can't make it again! If your other plans fall through, then please reconsider.

Thanks, I'm still new around here.
Sounds interesting. We have never been to a big rally but we have attended some group camping with other RV groups. I have an annual work related conference I attend around that week. I might be able to go from conference to camping ;). Will keep an eye out on this topic.

I am going to try and make it to this one. We live in the Leesburg area so it's a close one for us and is just one more good excuse to go camping. Sounds like fun and looking forward to meeting everyone.

I've never been to Goshen. We will be a lot smaller rally than that! We had a lot of fun last September and it was small enough that we really were able to make some friendships. I am glad you are considering attending!

compman69 04-06-2016 10:42 PM

This sounds like a good time, I'm going to goshen so I hope I can make this one since it's right in the back yard! Met a lot of great new friends at lazy days!

RusLwt001 04-08-2016 03:47 PM

My wife and I would really like to attend this event. We live just outside Atlanta. I notice on the FROG website there is still no update to registration. Any ideas when to expect we can register? Thanks and I look forward to meeting everyone.

RusLwt001 04-08-2016 06:01 PM

Camping gator --- where do we register for this event? I don't see the opportunity to register on the Frog site or here. Is it open yet? Should we call the campground? Please advise. Thank you.

CampingGator 04-08-2016 06:20 PM

Please do not call the campground yet. This is their busy season and the woman who oversees the rally's will call me when she is ready to start taking reservations. There should be no problem in getting a site. I will notify you on both this site and the FROG site when she gives the ok. Hang in there!!

RusLwt001 04-08-2016 08:10 PM

Thank you.

Tfort 04-09-2016 09:32 PM

Do I need to be a F.R.O.G. member to attend this event?

Yes, it is a FROG Rally.

FROG is Forest River. Thus you need to own a Forest River Product and join the Forest River Owners Group (free to all FR product owners) to attend one of their rallies.

It's easy to join! Just go on over to the Forest River Owners Group website and sign up. It only takes a few minutes. You will receive a newsletter from them as well. We don't check for proof, but you do need to own a Forest River product to be able to attend.

This rally was a lot of fun last year and we would love for you to attend! Hopefully we will be given the go-ahead to start registering in the next week or two. I will let everyone know.
