This will be my first FROG rally. Probably because this is my first year in an RV.
I would consider volunteering, but would like to know what is involved.

SYE 02-28-2017 08:12 AM

There are many things, parking crew is a big one, shuttle cart drivers, escorts, welcome committee, basically whatever frog needs. I did it year before last, but can't get the time off work

dates for 2018-2019

I am pretty sure that FROG Bob posted the "locked in" dates for 2018 and 2019 (I think for 5 years actually)

But darned if I can find them - does someone out there have the link or dates?

Rally

It was our 1st Rally in 2016 and not knowing what to expect, we had a blast. Our camper was amongst a bunch of different fivers and we made lots of new friends. It does not matter where you are parked or what brand you have, we all are there for the same purpose. Go with the flow and enjoy it or don't come at all, that is your choice! Bob and his staff are the best at what they do, they make miracles happen at each Rally. Thank you Bob for the best experience ever and we hope to see you this year!!

Sid, I've been told by Guy & Lil and by Michel & Margaret that you're not allowed to have golf balls. Maybe you know something about that and, if so, could enlighten the group?

Golf balls

Bob, as you know the story of the "LOOSE GOLF BALLS" with our Canadian
Friends they both love the "FREE" golf balls, just not the way I deliver them. Oh well, It was a pretty good "GOTCHA".

PS: Just in case you do have extras, just remember me in case?:anim_snoopy:

FROG International Rally Announces 2017 Amish Country Tours

03-02-2017

Among the most popular features of the FROG International Rally are the optional tours in and around Amish Country. This year we're expanding the number of tours to twelve from nine, repeating some old favorites that always fill up fast and adding some new and exciting destinations.

Registration for these tours, all of which include air-conditioned bus transportation and a meal as part of the package, will open in April as part of the FROG Rally registration. Note that the cost of these tours is not included in your FROG Rally registration fee.

Here's a list and summary of this year's tours to help you with your planning. Thanks to Cindy and to Sonya Nash of the Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau for their long hours and hard work in planning the tours.

For the list and description of the tours, go to the FROG website at www.forestriverfrog.com and click on the "NEWS" tab.

Bob I guess this is a sign that things are getting close, I know I have been contacted by some about the rally and volunteering, do you think people are anxious??????

Broadway Joe 03-03-2017 08:55 PM

I'm already warming up my truck (not too anxious).

W5CI 03-03-2017 10:03 PM

We are so anxious that we are leaving for Elkhart in two weeks,, for repairs. But we are certainly ready for another FROG

Grumpy64 03-04-2017 08:10 AM

So I don't post much but I figured I would share my experience at my first International FROG rally last year. In one word, AWESOME. A huge amount of good things have already been covered and I can only echo that positive sentiment, but I noticed that a "best kept secret" hasn't been mentioned. When we arrived, we were placed in a field on a corner by gate 6. My view out my back window of my 34RL was a beautiful field. We were parked on a slight slope. Hmmmmm???!!! It was a short walk to all of the "festivity areas" but there were golf carts offering rides all day. I didn't hear any train horns at night. When it rained, the water drained quickly. The rabbits, deer and other wildlife were an added bonus. It was so peaceful, my wife and I decided we would definitely be back. The Forest River employees were great and we made some lifetime friends. I will be volunteering this year. But the point I am trying to make is that the "Back 40" is a hidden gem and I hope others see why!

Hello... We are new to TT camping and are anxious to be part of the FROG international Rally in August. Can someone help me understand how this all works? sign up, cost, anything? Thanks!

stevegotl 03-06-2017 10:02 AM

So I saw something about volunteering at the FROG International Rally.... can someone tell me what all is involved in that or how to sign up?

Total Bliss 03-06-2017 10:08 AM

Go to forestriverfrog.com

stevegotl 03-06-2017 10:13 AM

I looked all over the Forest River Frog website and didn't find anything about volunteering. Actually there really isn't much about the Rally as of yet.

Here's a little something: Forest River Owners Group - The official owner's group of Forest River RV, manufacturer of world-class recreational vehicles.
Here's info on tours, etc.: Forest River Owners Group - The official owner's group of Forest River RV, manufacturer of world-class recreational vehicles.

It doesn't cover volunteering but it's more than "isn't much".

https://www.forestriverforums.com/for...nds-88352.html

Here is our "sticky" thread on the subject. It is a "survival guide" of sorts for the international rally. When the rally registration opens in Late March or Early April on the Forest River Owners Group - The official owner's group of Forest River RV, manufacturer of world-class recreational vehicles. web site (AND ONLY THERE) you will be able to sign up for the rally, order any side trips Forest River Owners Group - The official owner's group of Forest River RV, manufacturer of world-class recreational vehicles., specify any special needs (handicap, etc.), and volunteer for things like the parking committee, registration workers, or, "at rally" needs like shifts driving the shuttles.

There are only 800 spaces available again this year so an early sign up is mandatory to get a spot and the tours fill up rapidly so if there is one you really want, you will need to be sure to sign up the first week.

Sign up is by "fully paid" in advance for the rally and the tours. Tour prices vary by tour. What ever the cost, the rally is worth every cent IMO. The Rally fee barely covers camping and food and is heavily subsidized by Forest River. Last year it was $475 for the week of camping, but I believe it will be more this year. It covered 6 nights of camping, 6 breakfasts, and 4 dinners.

Hope to see you there,
Herk

stevegotl 03-09-2017 05:05 PM

Thanks for the information, that was just what I was looking for. I am anxious about the registration window as I was locked out of a local rally here in Ohio because i don't know to sign up as soon as it was available. Looking forward to an exciting summer of camping......
