Water pump issues

Our water pump starts but just a little water comes out then it hisses and stops. One year old 21’ mini lite camper. We’ve always been hooked up to water and just found this issue.

Does your fresh water tank have water in it and is the valve from the tank in the correct position? The valve may be in the "winterize" position.

When you say it stops, are you saying the pump stops or are you saying the pump continues to run, but the hissing stops? If the latter, I would agree with cboss that your diverter valve is in the winterization/antifreeze suction position. Flip the switch on the valve and see what happens.

The water stops flowing. Where is this valve located?

Usually right near the input to pump. It will be on the water line from the tank.

Thanks. I’ll check it out.

It would help if you posted year and model number, since valve locations vary wildly between brands and models.

Also... do you have a ShowerMiser valve on your shower? It may be in the wrong position orcracked.

Thanks everyone! The valve was on winterize. Appreciate the help!
