FR3 25DS Bed
I just bought a FR3, 25DS, 2014.
My wife and I had a lovely first trip; Yosemite, eastern Sierras. Everything seemed to work well.
I do have one question.
The rear bed, in the pull out seems odd. When the pull out is fully extended, the mattress is too long for the plywood underneath. The foot of the mattress is hanging past with about 15 inches un-supported, very close to the wall between the bathroom and the bed.
Is this operator error?
The mattress has 2 short sections, and 2 long sections. Which section is at your head?
I also notice that if you flip the one short section up at your head, almost like a headboard, the bottom section is fully supported. However this does shorten the bed, which is problematic as I am 6' 1".
In any event, I hope you get the picture. Your help is appreciated.
Thank you.

Sounds like someone replaced the original mattress with something else. The factory mattress has one long section and a single short section. The mattress is fully supported when laid out.

Thank you FR3Randy.
Question: Does your bed have a plywood bottom that folds down when the slide is fully in. On my rig, also a 25DS, there is plywood the full width of the bed which adds about 30" to the bed's length. When the slide is pulled out the plywood pops up. However, the plywood is unsupported for about 12-15 inches and therefore sags down.

To slide in, you must roll the bottom of the mattress up towards the head. As the slide comes in the plywood "flap" folds down so it does no hit the bathroom wall.

I believe this is the way the rig came from the factory. A very strange set-up.

Thank you for all o your help.

I will double check it again this weekend but yes -- sounds like the FR3 bed frame. I just thought ours the board came pretty much ( 3-4 inches ) to the edge of the mattress. The Mattress is called a hinged mattress.
But the mattress from the factory has one hinge -- 2/3 and then 1/3. It maybe your mattress is longer than the original since you mentioned it had 2 or 3 hinges.
