Was able to get a new copy of the registration form for the Forest River extended warranty if anyone needs it. My dealer definitely did not provide this in the paperwork, figured it is the case with most.

Barney1 05-07-2012 03:39 PM

Please PM me the form

vm12329 05-07-2012 05:09 PM

If i send you my email can you scan and send?

rkswyo 05-07-2012 05:21 PM

I do not understand why Forest River lets the dealers get by with not explaining or showing the customer this warranty. My dealer failed to mention it as well and in fact tried very hard to discourage me from buying it to the point of flat out lying about what it covered. I think he was a little miffed at me not buying one of the highly inflated 3rd party warranties!

bob213 05-07-2012 06:11 PM

I would think everyone should be able to click on the attached file that Smitty75 posted. You can open it or save it. Either way, just hit print.

hatstomper 05-07-2012 06:17 PM

So I was going to ask what it costs but it does not do me any good as it says it must be returned within 10 days of purchase.

hkreck 05-07-2012 06:32 PM

YA from what I see this is only good for TT and 5th wheel is there one for Motorhomes?

Smitty75 05-07-2012 06:57 PM

Yeah, I even asked before I went to pick up my new camper and when we were signing the papers. They almost seemed offended when I asked about it, but assured me it was in there. Well it wasn't lol, but forest river was quick to send me the copy. All you have to do is fax it in or mail in with a check. They may even be flexible on the 10 days if you give them a call and explain the dealer didn't tell you.

If you are having trouble getting the form off this post, just shoot me an email and I can reply back with the form as an attachment. My email is jcsmith8123@yahoo.com

When I spoke with FR about the extended warranty I was informed that dealers are not required to tell customer about it. I was well beyond that 10 days window when I added it over the telephone paying with a credit card.

I believe it was $150.

Smitty75 05-07-2012 08:08 PM

It's $150 for the 2109s.

Price depends on the model. My paticular one was $150. Some models are higher. I don't think any are over $300.

Wiscampsin 05-07-2012 08:11 PM

I registered over the phone with a credit card 2 weeks ago. Cost for our 2013 Palomino Sabre 5th wheel was $150. Link to what I used with prices at the bottom.

$150 for Rockwood 2904SS Ultralite

kegoneill 05-16-2012 05:15 PM

Does anyone know if this applies to Canadian owners also?

Happy Vibe 05-16-2012 05:30 PM

Yes it applies to Canadians. I used the phone number in the other thread and gave them my credit card number. Easier than trying to figure in the exchange rate for a cheque.

What other thread?

Happy Vibe 05-16-2012 06:29 PM

Under the forest river community forum- dollars and cents there is a 20 page discussion about the extended warranty. The phone number is 574-389-4600

Good idea

I hope they are planning to update this... Coachmen/Catalina are not on there. We're not represented on the main Forest River website either... :(

It's only been 4 years since Forest River acquired Coachmen.

go to FR's real main website:

Forest River : RV, Cargo Trailers, Boats, Commercial, Housing

Coachmen is at the bottom, along with Prime Time, Dynamax, Shasta and Palomino.

mhartzel 05-29-2012 06:11 AM

ohhhh, there it is. I feel like a :sterb191: now.

bjlowe 05-29-2012 09:51 AM

Appreciate Smitty75 for starting this post and the others for contributing as we're hoping to pick up a new Sabre in 5-6 more weeks.

hiflyer901 05-29-2012 11:32 PM

it is only like $150 or $200, I cant remember but it is cheap

tentcamper1 05-30-2012 05:46 AM

in 2010 we paid 150.00 for ours, I found out about the extended warranty 3 months after purchase and they still allowed me to get it..

Superchief 06-19-2012 02:40 PM

Hkreck,

I had the same question you had about extended warranties on Motorhomes. I spoke with Forest River today and they told me they do not offer extended warranties on motorized products ( i.e. Motorhomes).

Craig

Muskiebob 06-19-2012 03:04 PM

Cost for the extended warrent for my flagstaff 5th wheel superlite was $150.00.

hkreck 06-19-2012 05:45 PM

Thank for checking into that Craig

Herk7769 06-19-2012 06:36 PM

This thread moved to Dollars and Cents and then "stuck"

X2

Sailfish Bret 06-20-2012 02:21 PM

Only way I knew about the extended Forest River warranty was from this site. The other thing my dealer didn't tell me was that I also got, free from Forest River, a 1 full year membership with CoachNet RV Roadside Service. None of which would have been worth a dime had they been able to talk me into the $1500.00 extended warranty program. Gotta love Al Gore for the Internet!

Wildkats66 12-14-2012 08:34 PM

The form covers the TT and 5th wheels..anyone know of a class c 2nd year warranty.

bob213 12-15-2012 12:47 PM

I don't believe any Class A, B, or C is able to get the 2nd year from FR.

Superchief 12-15-2012 02:54 PM

You are correct about the Class A. I do not know about Class B or C. I had called the FR Factory about this a year ago, and was told not applicable to Class A.

slacktime 05-23-2013 10:22 AM

Yes very good information, I will be adding it also when I pick mine new TT up.

LKicklight 05-23-2013 10:37 AM

Warranty

Forest River does not have a second year warranty on anything that sells for less than say 50K..Our Crusader 270RET was to have a second year warranty, when we went to apply for it, we were told it was not available and never had been...bad information from dealership at the time of the sale...
So, we put away some bucks to cover most anything under 1500 dollars..rather than spending 1200 or more annually on some kind of extended warranty..anything over 1500 dollars, we would just trade it in on a newer model with a warranty..

jerry1946 05-23-2013 10:48 AM

2nd year warranty

I bought a 2nd year warranty from Forest River when I bought my Travel Trailer 2/13/2012 it cost $150.00 . I am looking at it now. Top of page reads.
"Forest River Inc. Additional 12-month Peotection Plan for Travel Trailer and Fifth Wheels."

LKicklight 05-23-2013 10:54 AM

Bucket

Roger Stickel, National Sales Manager for Forest River told me directly that our Crusader 270RET did not have a second year warranty offered by Forest River..we took his word at it along with the Dealership that sold us this coach back in November of 2011....If you have something other than what was told to me...I would love to see it....you can email me with a copy...

Don't know how long FR has had the Crusader, but some of their recent aquisitions are not yet covered by the 2nd year warranty.
