Eliminating the need for an Inverter for TV and DVD

we use a 200 watt inverter to run a small lcd tv and a portable dvd player(connected to the tv)
both tv and dvd have wall warts(ac adaptors) plugged into the 120 volt outlet when hook up is available and plugged into the inverter when dry camping

the TV requires 12volts dc from its adaptor, so i should be able to run it directly from the trailer 12 volt system easily, correct?

the dvd player requires 9 volts dc from its adaptor at 1 amp capacity, is there a way of getting that in my trailer without converting 12 dc to 120 ac then back to 9v dc

Does the manufacturer of the Dvd player make a car adapter? Otherwise one might be available from Radio Shack or other sources. The TV will run from a car adapter. Just use a multimeter to check polarity on the AC adapter and make sure it is the same when you hook up to 12 volt supply. Again, the manufacturer may sell a car adapter. My Jensen TV that came with the RV is 12 volt and came with a car adapter as its power plug.

neither have car adaptors and probably arent available

the tv should be easy, just get some parts and make a cable

the dvd is a different story, it requires 9 volts @ 1 amp

i'll check that out at radio shack or thte "source"

it seems redundant to run these items through an inverter, 12 vdc to 120 ac them back to 12 vdc!!

now the only items requiring an inverter are a sony camera battery charger, laptop charger and aa battery charger

I run my TV using a 12 volt adapter I bought at Canadian Tire. I had a look and I don't see it on their website any more; but it also had a step down function that let you pick voltages below 12 volts.

I just found a link on eBay; looks like this seller doesn't ship to Canada though. At least you have an idea of what to look for.

(Edit- looks like this is a 120 volt input. Mine looks almost the same; excpet it plugs into the cigarette plug of the trailer.)
