Love them chicken pits! Our little town is Swedish, and has a Swedish festival each summer. Three pit looks very similar to that and is about 1/2 block long. I hear it used to be a full block! 1500 lbs! That's a lot o chicken! Have fun, and i love the end point! ptL !

wow Mt Clemens. Now there is a place I haven't thought about in a long time. My dad was stationed at selfridge air national guard base when I was in 1-3 grades. My 2 oldest sisters (twins) spent freshman and sophomore yrs at mt Clemens high school. Thanks for bringing back those old memories.

Fivenikkels 04-28-2013 08:00 PM

Glad we could stir up some if those memories actually I'd like to say thank you to Joplin MO while there helping after the tornado one of the local churches wanted to make sure everyone had something to eat on Memorial Day and to still observe the day they built a pit bigger than this one I just learned from there experience works great its amazing what you pick up in a disaster site
