Ideas for driveway
 
Just picked up a Sunseeker 3010 over the weekend. Unlike our 3170 we traded in, this has the big foot Levelers. I found out when I tried backing into my driveway that the Levelers are too low to get in without using Linx blocks to raise it up. There is an incline at the beginning of the driveway before you get to the sidewalk, so the Levelers wind up hitting at the sidewalk. Anyone have a problem like this before? I really didn't want to have to pull the blocks out every time we leave and come back, but I also didn't want to spend a fortune redoing the concrete. The first night I had to pull in forward and it made it without a problem. Unfortunately, it doesn't work in my driveway in that direction because I pull the rear tires to the back of the driveway and the back over hangs into the grass. With it being forward it sticks in the driveway another 6 or 8 feet. I had someone tell me there's a machine that could shave down the concrete, I'm just not sure what that would look like. Any ideas welcome. Thanks.

Yes you can add air in the airbags if it's not full I added some to mine it solved the same problem and gave it a better ride I think I have 70 psi in mine now I think they were around 50psi raised the tell end at least a inch

It will clear in my driveway;) you will be vary unhappy with shaving it will look more like a shaved tile you will see the aggregate (rocks) that look cut and polished DONT SHAVE IT just my $0.02

Sounds like your driveway apron is the culprit. In simplest explanation, the apron is the transition from the depressed curb elevation to the sidewalk elevation. Further, the apron lies in the right-of-way of the road, and technically is not yours to do what you please with. It belongs to the local governing body, and you are technically required to maintain it to their standard - at your cost of course. So, someone will likely frown upon milling it down (what the process is called) because it does leave an unappealing surface that is less durable than what the existing, finished surface is (not the venue to discuss the engineering and science of concrete).

How much rise do you need not to scrub? You indicate using the Linx levelers but not how many. At my winter storage, my TT is parked next to a 2300 and the rear Bigfoots are only about 8" off grade by my estimation. If you only need an 1.5", why not get a treated 2x to lay out? Little easier than Linx and fairly inexpensive.

With our pop-up, we had to lay down 2x10s in that gutter (aka "apron" as it appears to be called). We only needed a couple inches and it was less hassle than you'd imagine.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll probably try to work it out with my driveway, but thanks for the offer to take it! I figured it might look like a mess if I would scrape it down. I may get some 2x10s and do it that way, or I could add blacktop to the back of the driveway and pull it in forward. I read some threads in other forums about being able to adjust the Levelers higher, but I'm not sure they were talking about Big Foot.

I did raise them. Too steep of an incline.

Can you back in at an angle for the extra clearance also pics would help... If extending the driveway paver blocks might be better then paging it.

Always found a steep angle of side approach helped leaving and entering. Just correct wth steering enroute.
