Coach-Net experiences
 

My free first year of Coach-Net roadside assistance is about to expire. Luckily I haven't had to use it! My question is whether this is a good service or is there a better one out there? My basic renewal fee is $79.00, $149.00 for premier coach. Thanks!

I have the same coverage from my insurance company for less than $40 a year.

I have the 1 year Coach net also and have never used it. I also have AAA premier that includes truck, TT and my motorcycle. It runs me $190 a year. Coach net may offer some things that AAA does not. I would put the 2 side by side and see which one works better for you. It is a comfort to know that you have these services on tap if you ever need them.

If you are comparing AAA and Coach net, I would also compare Good Sam.

I've had Coachnet since 2008 when it came free for a year with my first FR RV. Covers both my RV and vehicles. Only had to use once (flat on my personal vehicle) and they delivered - prompt and courteous). Did a comparison once to AAA and Coachnet was much cheaper.

Your insurance company provides an RV tech who will walk you through checking/fixing things yourself when able to do so???

I've been very pleased with Coachnet. They have helped me three times in 2 years and been spot on and timely.

I have coachnet and have used them, twice on same trip, no complaints. I also have coverage included by my insurance company and had issues with trying to use them. That's what made me choose coachnet.

Used Coachnet for 4 years and used them numerous times. For both the tow vehicle and the family cars. The best thing in Canada is that they call around to see who can do the job in a reasonable amount for time and with the right equipment.

They always call to make sure the guy shows up and give you a call back number in case something goes FUBAR.

Had Coachnet on our MBS as provided by FR. On our first long trip, the generator quit in Oshkosh, WI. Called Coachnet (and FR) - they were of little help - they could get someone to look at our genset three days later. We were boondocking in Oshkosh, ended up moving to campsite 30 miles outside of town. I let the subscription expire and have no plans to renew.

Used once when I was a newbie and didn't know how to lower spare tire from under the trailer. It took about 2 hours for them to arrive on a weekday morning. It seemed to be long to me since there was no weather or traffic issues in the area. Once he arrived, the tire change was done quickly.

I look at the expense like any other insurance - you never know when you might need it but are very glad you have it at times.
