The zamp plug goes directly to the battery wouldn't go smaller than 40 watts.100 is better.use a charge controller.

Voltage does not necessarily mean the battery is good. Batteries might not be supplying enough amps. Have the internal conductance of the batteries checked.

But running a fridge would require a good size solar panel

I would try a product called seafoam. Unhook your gas line and run off another small gass can mixed with the additive and see if It cleans it up.
