Have never used Flexseal, but I have used Eternabond tape and it sticks/seals great. Did my entire roof (seams) 3 years ago still going strong!

I find that a little grease helps the coupler...

I find that a little grease helps the coupler slide on to ball easier and also makes the latching mechanism easier to operate.
