Can’t seem to get ground at the socket. Shouldn’t I see a ground wire attached to the metal socket? I only see the green and brown to the filaments.

Sway control bars

True, you are not supposed to lube the L bracket contact areas. That is your sway control and they have brake material on them and the L bracket for friction.
