Not sure why that video said to run oil level low. The manufacturer set that full level where it needs to be. Fill it up to full level and try it.

Don't forget to remove the sleeve when you remove the hitch. Ask me how I know. I work in the metal industry so I got a piece of 2" Square tubing and cut it to length. Home made sleeve.

My guess is they have grease on the inside of the hubs or on the magnets. I would say pull the drums and clean everything and my bet is they will work again.

I took my old one off while camping when it quit working. Drove to a near by RV dealership and was able to leave with the exact replacement. Some dealerships have a nice parts department.
