My seals failed last year as well.
I purchased the trailer in 2020, used like once and ever since lubed seals with
Slide out lube spray often and they still failed.
Poor quality is the answer....

I keep ours in the back of the pickup and pull out just enough to keep well ventilated when running with the bed cover still down. I have it chained and locked to the bed tiedowns.

Oil level

I agree, the biggest issue with generators is oil level. The safety switch will immediately kill it if the oil level show LOW!.
Check level if RV and oil level in generator.

I added a 2nd Battery to my Forest River Vibe18RB.
It enabled me to go about 10 hours with everything running except AC.
It was pretty easy. I’m sure you could do this.
