Try a NON GFIC outlet

Try a non GFIC outlet and see if the problem with resetting the one in the trailer goes away. I have never been able to use a GFIC outlet to power my trailer. It trips instantly.

Use gvwr of the trailer. That includes trailer cargo. Gvwr x 0.15 is max tongue. Add people and stuff and you must be at or below the vehicle cargo rating.

Spot check with IR gun

I do a quick spot check of hub and tire temps with an IR gun when I stop for fuel. Hopefully I'd get some warning with it.
