As far as maintaining the slides I'm not sure of your particular version, but I am sure that there are manual cranks to override the electrics should those fail. Mine is ten years old and still going...

I have the same year Georgetown and have the same problem. I have merely been extremely careful with using the landing gear and have tried to get up on a ladder to push/pry it back into its spot....

I would recommend a sediment filter on your fill...

I would recommend a sediment filter on your fill hose prior to modding the tank to pump from the drain valve just to eliminate any unwanted particles messing up the pump.
