I leave the batteries in our camper and just turn the battery disconnect off. I don't use a charger of any sort. We store our rig inside where the temp rarely gets below 30 degrees in the winter....

With a properly working converter your batteries should charge anytime the rig is plugged into shore power whether it's a generator or hard wired 30 amp receptacle.
