Agreed. But, you can still use Xplan and haggle over the trade value. It really doesn't matter what price you pay or what your trade value is. It matters what the combination of those two is.

Lighter trucks have finite amount of payload. That is always a topic on here. I wouldn't want to waste that limited payload on a crane if I didn't have to.

"when properly equipped" probably means with a certain hitch or features. I would just look at the hitch on the vehicle. It likely has a sticker showing it's prescribed weight limits.
