I used the 4”. It covered all seams well, and I think 2” would have been too narrow. I ran two passes only on the front seam, as it barely covered everything with one pass.

I taped all my seams with Eternabond. It isn’t hard, though it takes some time and you need to prep. Done properly it will last a long time.
