Outdoor KItchen Leaking during Rain

We have Forester 2816DL the door around the Outside kitchen is caulked and the foam/rubber seal is still intact. we are at our wits end how to repair ....any suggestions or has someone experienced similar issues.

Correction: This is a 2016 Forester 2861DS with the outside kitchen/wet bar area. The seal in the hatch/door is leaking every time it rains and has damaged the base and cabinets. What can we use to seal this door properly?

Not familiar with your specific door but on mine, there are a total of three cam latch/locks. If each doesn't snug the door tight on the seal that could well be the source of the leak(s). On mine I had to adjust the cams by bending slightly so that when I turned the latch or lock I needed to push in on the door so I was compressing the seal. Repeated for each so the door was tightly sealed.

Also, check to make sure the top hinge is properly installed. It may be leaving the top of the door loose on the seal. Only cure here is to remove attaching screws from hinge to body, fill holes with doweling glued in place (gorilla glue is great for this) then re-drill holes and insert screws so door is tight at top when closed.

You can buy self stick dense foam weatherstrip in different shapes/size and see what you can do to seal it. Steel Rubber has different types for RVs. Check their web site.

I am with Mike and Deuce...it’s prolly leaking at the top if it’s like my old one... there was a lip around the perimeter and it would be difficult to leak much towards the bottom.

Thanks. We think and hope we isolated the problem. We think it’s the black rubber seal at the top of the inside of the door.

Since I don't see any seal there, that would be the place I would start.

Yes, I took the photo after we removed the seal. Before we removed it, it was compressed and not covering the whole area as it was originally.

If its to soft and stays compressed, you may be able to get a foam seal that is a little harder and not stay compressed. Possable to use 2 smaller seals in that spot with a seal on each side. Door and opening facing each other and combined a little thicker then what was there.
