I have had nothing but problems with my 12 volt refrigerator. Sometimes it works, then it quits. This is the second refrigerator and the 5th board. The Lippert tech to the RV tech these boards have a mind of their own. That is not acceptable. The RV has been back at the dealership again. The tell me it works. But of course it is empty. I keep it plugged in at home but use it3out of four weekends from March through November. Any ideas ?

This thread is about Everchill 12v only fridges. FR puts a variety of different brands and model numbers of 12v only fridges.
Is yours an Everchill or a different brand?

Help needed. I purchased a ClasC Forester in 2021. It had a Magic Chef 12volt refrigerator which went bad and after some time, Forest River, through the dealership, replaced the refrigerator with an Everchill 12 volt. The same problem has occurred. The freezer works but the refrigerator portion does not cool. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. I do keep the unit plugged in at home from March to early November because I use it 3 out of 4 weekends a month for dog events. This has been an ongoing problem which I have posted before and tried all the suggestions, less food, small fan, reset etc. After another failure by the refrigerator, I took the unit to a local RV place. The dealership is 2+ hours away. The problem was the control board. They ordered a new board from Lippert, it was installed. when the tech went back later to check on the refrigerator, it was not working. He called Lippert about the problem They said "these boards have a mind of their own" but sent a new board. The tech went out to move the RV and the fridge was working fine. I picked up the RV, used it a few times and same problem....freezer works but does not cool the refrigerator, lights flashing inside. I did call Forest River customer service. FR told me to take it back to the dealership at the end of the season. which I did in November. I have called and was told it is working fine...but this would be when it is empty. I told them to keep checking for the problem. This is the fourth control board I have gone through. I am so disgusted. Last year on a trip to our dachshund club national, it stopped working. not only did I lose the food, but I had to go buy a cooler.
Does anyone have anymore ideas? I see other people have had the same problem. What were your results? The RV is still at the dealership....I will call again next week. I did purchase a small dorm size refrigerator, but I want the 12 volt problem resolved. Thank you Diane

You need to call Lippert and complain to them. I'd skip over FR at this point. Make sure you get all the receipts and notes from the work that has been done.

Are you aware of the recall? There's a video explaining how to add 3 extra vents to the everchil/magic chef fridge (they are the same just different brands). Fixed mine perfectly.

When I called Lippert, they were of little help. They told the RV tech that the board had a mind of its own I can try again Thanks

has anyone looked at the battery and the wiring to see if it is causing any issues?
or do they just change out stuff without doing a thorough test?

low voltage and fridges probably don't play well together

I have my fridge on FULL time, never turn it off
works great and never has had a hiccup

parked next to house so can store excess food/drinks in there
solar keeps the battery healthy so it costs me nothing to run the fridge
