12v pump recommendation - Lippert Flow Max head leaks

Newbie here, 2022 Coachmen Clipper 17FQ with Lippert / LCI 12v Flow Max pump. Initial trip, pump head leaked, tightened up head screws (they were all not tight) and no more leaks on check out at home after repair. 2nd trip, head leaks again. Not much maybe a tablespoon or so after a 3 day trip. Did not use pump on either trip so it was just the (regulated) water pressure from the campground ~ 40 psi in both cases.

Yes, I could take it back for a warranty repair but the new pumps themselves are only about $80 on Amazon (Lippert / LCI Flow Max 12v pumps) and when I read the Amazon reviews there are good number of reviews that say they have replaced this same pump up to 3 times for the head leak issue and apparently it is somewhat common. Parts/gaskets not available. I am also considering isolation valves for the pump so this is not an issue when connected to a water supply but I still have to worry about the head leaking when just using the pump (confirmed just using pump also results in head leaks) so this not a solution for when I need to run the pump while camping.

So, my question is, what brand and model pump would you recommend to replace the one I have as I do not think I am going to replace with the same Lippert / LCI 12v Flow Max.

Or maybe (and better) you have a root cause for why this head is prone to leaking and have a stop leak solution for this pump.

Drag this back to the dealer where it will sit for months? You're kidding, right?

If your pump has no maintenance parts available I'd just install a new pump from a brand with maintenance support. A mobile RV service should be able to provide and install a new pump $$$, but it's simple to DIY.

I installed a Shurflo Whisper King pump in my Roo nearly 20 years ago and it continues to function flawlessly. Have no idea the model number. Installed it because the OE pump was LOUD. Just swapped the plumbing to the new pump and wired it in.

Ebay is awash with these and replacement diaphragms for them.

They most likely have them manufactured by the lowest irresponsible bidder over in China, then slap an LCI decal on them.

Thanks, yes, I am nearly 100% DIY. I have already removed and reinstalled troubleshooting the head leak, also replaced leaky pex fittings on the soft pvc hose they like to use. Sounds like Shurflo is a good option. Will wait and see if others chime in with a recent model number or other recommendations.

Thank you. Yes, I was just looking at this model on Amazon, actually lower price than the Lippert I have.

Lippert / LCI is sending me a new pump

Before ordering a new Shurflo pump, I thought I would contact Lippert / LCI and see if they could offer a solution. To their credit, they are sending me a new pump. I did have to give them picture of the pump/leak, VIN, manufacture date, purchase date and images / pictures of all. Replacement is easy so I am going to give it a try. While I do think this replacement could have similar head leaks, I think some of the reason for leaking was that it sat idle on the dealer's lot for 1.5 years. Same with some of the other leaks (sink faucet and soft tubing at two PEX connections.

So, while Lippert / LCI may not be preferred by some, I have to give them credit for sending me a replacement pump.

Thanks for the advices, if this one leaks, I will replace with Shurflo as suggested.
