I am installing a solar panel system in my 2013 Rockwood Ultra Lite 8280WS, I was wondering if there was a way to route the panel wires from the roof into the front battery compartment internally? In the wall or roof vent or something similar?

My other idea is to route the wire externally down the left side with wire clips, then add an entry gland on the side of the existing battery compartment near the left propane bottle door.

Any ideas? Thanks, John in Montana

look at ... not in any particular order
a) behind fridge you can sometimes fish a new wire
b) through a floor to ceiling wardrobe inside a conduit... then screw it nicely to a wall
c) through the rooftop air vent for sewer

after you get to the FLOOR you can route the wire inside the underbelly or outside using a conduit

I ran mine down the side next to the awning with stick on zip tie clips, it goes under the trailer and then up

through the floor to the front storage where my controller is.

@trailerdude I'm curious why you didn't run the wires inside the awning support? I had a look at mine, and that's exactly where they ran the wires for the awning lights and awning motor. I was thinking about copying you, and when I started to look into it more, I can route the wires down the support and into the trailer right adjacent to the existing hole for the aforementioned wires. For me, on my 2019 Roo 183, this is also right above the "solar on the side" connection point which I have re-used for some external panels that attach to my MPPT which is inside the front cupboards (again, similar to yours).

Thanks for the idea.
