When moving the slide in or out it sounds and fills like it skips a sprocket or something. Not a smooth operation. Can the gearbox be slipping?
I can see everything under the bed. and if so what part number?

i don't know your model but on our 2015 cardinal there are two ways the slides are extended / retracted. the main slides are operated by a hydraulic system that used the lippert hydraulic pump. this is the same pump that controls the levelup system legs.

the two small slides use a cable system.

yours may have these two systems or it may have gear driven system. i don't know. but i suspect you will also have the lippert hydraulic system.

Forest River uses several different types of slides in their models and some models have more than one type.

Until we know what type you are referring to, we would simply be guessing.

Not all R/Vs are the same.

Can you give us more information?
