2020 Ford Raptor towing

I would look at a set of Timbrons. They replace the bump stops and prevent the sag. They only come into play when you have a load, $330 and 30 minutes to change out. Made a big difference on 4x4 Tundra pulling a 8K TT. A friend put them on this F-350 for hauling produce trailer w/ same good results. No maintenance. Look on etrailer.com.

I just watched a YouTube video about these. Looks easy to install and would do the trick for a lot less than airbags.

It will, do that first. It will shift some weight from the back to the front of truck and will raise the tail a bit. Will it be enough? you'll have to try it to see.
 
If your WD hitch is dialed in correct you shouldn't need bags. You need more torque on the hitch.
 
If putting your trailer on the ball causes sag, you are probably removing load on your front axle. Lowered load on the front axle can result in loss of steering control and lowers braking capability. Air bags do zero to address these issues. Before adding air bags, make sure your WD hitch is properly adding back weight to the front axle. Check your owners manual for how much needs to be restored. Once you have restored the appropriate amount of weight to the front axle, if you still have sag, then consider air bags. The only thing air bags do is make the truck LOOK level and keeps your headlights from blinding others. This U-Tube explains the issues.

***UPDATE***

Went over to storage and did the full hookup with WDH and there was actually very minimal sag. I drove it around storage and I was very surprised at the difference. Thanks for everyone’s thoughts and suggestions! Now I have to put 1000 miles on this truck so I can haul with it!

I have a 2017 raptor and a 23fbds.....yes it sags a bit.

BUT this truck makes camping fun - go to the sierras, un-hitch 4 wheel to 9000 ft.

more than enough power and torque.

a big no on the Timbren - waste of money

Also none of the air bag kits have enough travel for a raptor - need 14 inches I think.

I put timbrens on my F150 when hauling my TT. I needed them to level out a bit and stop the porpoiseing but mine was 7k loaded.

They work great but the ride with the trailer attached is rough. Without the trailer there is no change. I would think the RAS active suspension would be better on a raptor. Just as simple to install yourself but maybe a bit more expensive.

I would agree with others get your WDH setup first to see what if anything you may need.

If you do the timbrens get a ratchet wrench (17mm I think) to attach the base and it will only take 20min to complete.

I put the Timbrens on my 2015 Silverado. Made a big difference. Truck used to squat about 3 inches. Now it's less than without the WD. with WD it levels the truck within 1/2 inch.
The truck is rated 10,000 towing capacity with the HD towing package.
 
Sumo Springs. Used them on my 2010 150 KR to tow our previous 8500 lb 33’ camper for several years. 15 minute installation. They replace your stock bump stops.
 
The Raptor has a soft, off-road tuned suspension, so it makes sense it would set low under a load.
 
I have a Raptor but not used to tow. However a friend of mine has one that he hauls side by sides with and is a fairly heavy setup.
He installed airbags the airlift kit for like 5k support.
He off roads his truck(aggressively) first trip out destroyed one airbag from over extending it.
Airbags won’t travel as far as the suspension will.
Long story short he had to get airbags that were only secured to one surface not limiting down travel of suspension.

Might look into that if you do fully extend your suspension!

To add, long travel suspensions are very squishy and the truck has lots of body roll. I have towed a little with close to 4K behind it. I would not rank it as I’m control of the load.
My dually has control of a load, Raptor not so much!

All though a beautiful truck I don't think they are meant for towing. see the low payload numbers. I don't think 1/2 the folks commenting know what a raptor is and that it is not even close to a regular f150. this is from fords SVT program and has aggressive non standard suspension.
 
I agree. I traded in my 15 Dodge 1500. Payload was 1250. Subtract 2 passengers, weight from the 35s I was running, the tonneau cover, the wood for the campfire, the 2 extra 5 gallons of water and extra fuel, generator, dog, bbq, chairs, and what ever else I decided to throw in. Oh I almost forgot the weight of the trailer. I was well over the payload cap by 500lbs+. I also had the weight dist hitch from Fastway. The trailer is only a 26’r too nothing massive.

I ruined my truck. I started out by adding inner coil spring air bags to the rear. About 6 months later my coils were so warped I was wondering what other damage I did internally to the tranny, rear ended and brakes. I now own an F250 with a payload of over 3000. Now I can toss a quad in the bed too. No problem.

I was also under the impression that the Raptors had very low payload capacities, based on what I've read at F150forum.com.
