2020 Ford Raptor towing

I would look at a set of Timbrons. They replace the bump stops and prevent the sag. They only come into play when you have a load, $330 and 30 minutes to change out. Made a big difference on 4x4 Tundra pulling a 8K TT. A friend put them on this F-350 for hauling produce trailer w/ same good results. No maintenance. Look on etrailer.com.
I also have had good luck with Timbrens. They work great on my 2017 Ram 1500 4x4 with a 8k lb toy hauler. Between those and a Anderson WDH, I can comfortably run 65-70 mph with no issues. I got them for $200 on Amazon.

The Raptor is a completely different truck from a standard f150. It’s designed to run down dirt roads at very high speeds . The suspension has a lot of wheel travel and the reason for a low payload rating is to allow the rear suspension to soak up bumps while the cab remains still . Basically a factory built off road racing pre run truck . If you use the truck off road I would leave it alone . The wheel travel is what makes this truck . If it drops an inch or 2 when you put your trailer on no big deal . I am pretty sure even the frame is different on a Raptor . These trucks can run dirt roads at 50-70 mph easy .

I have a 2014 F150 crew cab 4x4 Tremor. I tow 35ft tt and I put the Firestone 1000lb. Airbags on myself with manual fill valves. Cost $325 from Amazon and took about 1 hour to install. Best thing I have ever done for towing. Levels rear of truck and improved handling in mountains towing. Considering wh
at you are towing, it should be a walk in the park.

OK...been reading this and getting nervous. Have a Flagstaff Micro Lite (25 ft) and pulled it with a Ford Expedition. No problems. Just swapped the Expedition out for a Ford F-150 with trailer package. Can pull up to 13,000 lbs (which I will never do). Am I going to have trouble with the weight on the hitch? This is sounding rather ominous.

The OP concerns a truck designed specifically for off-roading. Your F-150 with the tow package will be fine.

Thanks! I was concerned since so many were talking about things they added to their F-150's and I have no idea what they're talking about.

You have an F150 not an SVO Raptor!

I noticed a sag in mine, so I added a Helwig spring for 100 to 300 $. I only tried for a trial tow but it much better. Mine is 2013 f150 v8.

You need to understand that a Ford Raptor is NOT a regular F150. It's designed specifically for off road, therefore has different equipment and characteristics.
But your F150 is not spec'd to tow 13,000lbs unless it has the Max Tow package, not the regular tow package.

Raptor?

You stated you hadn’t hooked up the wdh when you noticed the sag. The wdh should remove the sag if set up properly by transferring some of the weight to the front axle. I have about 2-3” of sag until the wdh is hooked up and then everything is balanced out perfectly. 1996 Dodge Ram 2500, 5.9 gasser towing a Forest River 19’ microlite.

It has the max tow package. Sorry if I was misleading.

I’m sure you will be just fine with the max tow package.
It’s more about Raptors and there lack of capacity because of there suspension.
Payload on mine is only 1091.
Sorry quoted to wrong reply

Airbags

I just put Airlift 5000 series bags in my 3019 F150. It cost me 700 and change. I have to put the air in myself.

I had a 1500 Silverado Max Tow, that towed a 36’ TT that had squatting issues also, the weight distribution was 1500# weighted, my tongue weight was 1200#. I did not want airbags cause I heard stories that you always had to check and make sure you had the correct air pressure for the best ride, so I invested in Sumo Springs, you can purchase these from ETrailer.com, they take the the place of your factory bump stops. I noticed better control, reduced sway, very little squatting, I was not impressed with the Timbrens, to stiff, I wanted to maintain that smooth ride, the Sumo Springs only got stiffer the more weight you applied to them. I also took off the factory Hitch, which was only a class 3 and replaced it with a class 5, wow what a difference, you can also get that from ETrailer, their very helpful and they also show you videos on the products they sell.

WDH helps! Barely squats now and hauls great! I think it is leaning a little towards the front so will probably head to dealer next week for adjustments.

Looks pretty good. Weight distribution is your friend. :)
