We are from California and looking at purchasing one of these. Any thoughts or advice? This will be our first Class A.

Be aware of the carry weight of any motorhome you are considering

I like this model but...

Information you are looking for is typically pasted on the inside door of a kitchen cabinet or available on line

Industry standard at the time I bought my Class C in 2006 assumed 2 adults at 150lbs

Just know how much weight you can carry or tow before you buy

The most often problem reported on the V10 FR3 seems to be handling/suspension. Take a V10 for a test ride at Interstate speeds and see if you can accept the ride.

The earlier V8 FR3's had issues with random errors shutting down cruise control/ABS/hill assist and non ECO boost NPS generator problems.

Based on your experience you may want to consider hiring a RV inspector to look at any rig you ate interested in.....

Good luck !!!!

we have the 2019 30DS.
We use a dolly and tow our chevy trax. Never give a thought to weight, but I do run tire press at 92 PSI. Drive from So. Cali to WA and MT every summer for last 5 years with zero issues, except for two large cracks in the windshield this last trip...

We bought a 2021 FR3 32DS and have enjoyed it a lot. We spent 6 months exclusively on the road with our 3 kids, ages 10, 8 and 6 - 2 boys and a girl. Given the kids and a dog, the bunkhouse lay out and the bed over the cab was important for us to have space and some privacy for them (and us). If you don't need the extra bed space, then the 32ds might be too large. We have had a lot of interior and minor mechanical problems, most of which we've had to repair on our own b/c we couldn't get a qualified RV repairman. An RV tech we took it to told us the 2020/21 models have a lot of issues b/c they were put off the line quickly during covid pushing the repair problems to warranty. So, make sure you have the one you're interested in checked out carefully. The engine gets very loud and hot, so we're about to install heat/sound insulation on the engine cover. The pickup is terrible. But, we are still glad we bought one and have made many trips as a family to amazing places. We're going back to the Grand Canyon for Thanksgiving this year and the family is excited for another RV trip. Good luck with your decision.
