We had a mechanical problem with our brand-new trailer in April, and we called Good Sam for assistance in getting a mechanic to respond: called them back over a 7-hour period, but never got a follow-up call, or have someone show up to provide assistance. Not only did we have the roadside service contract, but the extended warranty package as well: Good Sam apparently was limited in the Prescott, AZ area to towing-only, but the single Forest River dealer said their shop was booked out for several months; the business that was alleged to do the roadside assistance mechanical repairs under contract for Good Sam had gone out of business at least two years before April 2023, and the address for his trailer repair shop had subsequently been taken over by a “green pharmacy” which permanently closed some time in late 2021, roughly 17 months before.
We’ve called Good Sam about gas discounts at Flying J and Pilot, apparently discounts are available at SOME facilities, but in attempting to find out which ones, we were told —and I quote — “You’ll have to ask the employees at those facilities.” Definitely not helpful… nor was contacting the Good Sam CEO as per their ads.
Whatever Good Sam used to be, the value doesn’t seem to be there today.
