2608BS Owners Thread

While waxing the trailer, I noticed there were 3 rock chips on the front cap. So far I have only pulled the trailer from the dealers to our house and once back to another dealer. Total travel time of 7 hrs and all of it on the highway. We only boondock that involves revelling on gravel roads. Our favourite site is about 1 1/2 hrs from home and that includes 14 km of rough, steep gravel road.

I think I am going to need some sort of protection for the front cap. Maybe some bigger mud flaps. I've seen some that clamp onto the trailer hitch, instead of the truck and was thinking those might be the answer. Anyone have some suggestions?

Drive slower. :)

Design Flaw?

I am not sure if this design is in the above thread but my camper came with this type and have never had

My 2024 came with this type. IMG_2802.jpeg

Ex-tenter, I'm going through old entries on the site and saw your solution for getting better tv reception. My question for you is how do you connect your tv antenna on your ladder to the tv in the camper? Hope you get this.
Coax cable to the connection near the ladder on the rear of the camper. You can use the Cable or Satellite, the TV does not care where the signal comes from. 😁

Unwinterizing the 2608. Every thing went well hooked up water and checked for leaks. All good so I thought. My wife went back in that evening and the bedroom carpet was soaked. Found the toilet footpedal was leaking. Ordered one and replaced it and all good so I thinking of ordering another for a spare. Good to be back on this forum

My bet this is the same
SHURFLO (244-2926) 1/2" x 14 NPT x 1/2" Barb Straight Wingnut Swivel Adapter
SHURFLO (244-2926) 1/2" x 14 NPT x 1/2" Barb Straight Wingnut Swivel Adapter - Walmart.com

You have pipe thread tape on a straight fitting. Pipe thread tape is used on tapered pipe threads to help in sealing(the threads to the sealing). It is just a hindrance in other threads. The sealing is done by the gasket in the female portion.

If the leak is from the threads:
First look for some of the tape in the female portion and if any remove it.
These fittings just have to be snug plus a bit more, easy to over tighten.

Most any home improvement store will have the fitting, remove it and take it with you.
Will probably have to use a hose clamp to reinstall. Install a hose clamp if the leak is from that area and not the threads.

Some folks have added some length of hose and installed a shut off valve in case of toilet work. Posts on it.

Note: If not sure on the fitting size, still remove it and take it to the store and match it up on both ends. If no fitting in stock you then have the correct size to search for one online.

Thanks will let you know process

I hade a leaking fitting like that and found that the rubber O ring wasn't seated properly. After adjusting It the problem went away.

Anyone know what brand solar panel comes with the 2024 2608BS? Mine will come with one 200W panel and a GoPower controller. I want to add another 200W panel but understand it should be the same manufacturer.
Go Power Overlander. I purchased from ETrailer online. I would also recommend getting 2 mc4 connection diodes ( got them from Amazon)…instal in positive line from each panel….stops back feeding from I panel to another if 1 panel is in shade, therefore optimizing charging. Install toward front of camper….my factory installed was right a the rear in the trees

For those interested in Starlink, I saw the idea on another thread, so I drilled through the black plastic water bay into the area beside the water pump and I added a double female CAT6 plug.... Hung the power supply and router for my GEN 3 on the closet wall and drilled through the bottom of the floor to get to the CAT6 from the black panel. Ran the power wire across the top of the closet and popped a hole in the door trim and plugged into the outlet for the bedroom tv.....Super easy mod...Pics to follow.

Loving this thread - learned a ton as newbie Rockwood owner already. Finally received our '25 2608BS (dual slide toppers, 2nd a/c, 2nd max air, front window shades, 3 solar panels total, 2 tvs) last month! Have tons of accessories ordered, received and in process of being delivered. A little bit overwhelmed trying to figure out storage for everything all at once, but with previous info from here we have a good start.

Especially struggling with the 50 amp power cords. For starters will be traveling with 30' and 15' extension cords (Camco) and a 90° dogbone twist-lock adapter (storing the 30' factory twist-lock cord at home for now). Have received the full range of dogbone adapters for all possible hook ups (hopefully). When we rented class A's prior to buying, I just got them inside the electrical bay and slammed it shut (like the guy before me); now I am looking for something repeatable and manageable.

How do you knowledgeable folks store these heavy 50 amp cords? Looking to keep them in the under bed outside storage area (with water hose / water accessory container, screen room, rug, chairs, folding table). The heavy cords don't seem to coil up very easily; too stiff for the over/under coiling way I store extension cords at home. Smallest coil I have been able to do with the 30 footer is about 18" dia, and that took a lot of effort after being in the sun for an hour! At 18-20" dia, that is a pretty large rectangular storage container for both cords and all the adapters. Searched on utube and in archives here, but not really seeing any good ideas for our tight outdoor storage areas. Must be something better than wrestling with the cord each stop trying to get back to same size coil?

Would love a pair of hose reels like in motor-home & 5th wheel (or even with full pass thru outside bay), but no good place to mount them in 2608BS and can't afford the limited available outside space.

Just a thought.
Get another spare tire carrier for the bumper. Make a backboard and put at least four large hooks or supports on it to wrap a cord or two around the hook/supports. May be able to mount the support the other way so the backboard is directly above the bumper?
Make it the same size as a spare tire and put a spare tire cover over it.
Backboard on both sides with dowel rods separating them and a cover would fit over nicely. At least the way I picture it. :)

Edit: Or make use of the hitch with a cargo rack.

I feel your pain about not having a cord reel, as I've owned motor homes Super C's in the past.... I've had luck coiling the 50A cord into the bed slide storage compartment.... I put everything away and then I undo the cord and loosely coil it into the compartment as the last thing to go in there.... When I get to the campground I open the compartment and that's the first thing to come out....
