A122 Interior Modification

The heavy pressedwood stock table had to go.. Put a light 3 drawer cabinet next to the wall so can have plenty of extra storage. Next purchased a Magic Folding Table that can be used inside or outside to wash dishes at the shower station. Table is called a Magic Folding Table model number 150-BG and I purchased it from Orlando RV for $32 but I see Amazon has them for $35. The table folds up to 22" by 15" and is very strong but light..I have included a picture of the screen room option that can be obtained from Forest River..Easy to put up (about 30 minutes) and uses Velcro to attach it to the camper..

Undercoating applied next

After looking over the underside of the A122 I decided that I would further protect the bottom.. I purchased spray rubber coating from Big Lots for $3.00 a can and sprayed everything I could get at.. Noticed that he wireing was not encased so that will be my next project..Also will wire up the camper for ham radio operation. Mice and rabbits love the coating on wires..

Town and Country TV

We originally were going to pull the A122 with a Chrysler Town and Country as the van was supposedly rated to pull 3500 lbs.. Well after putting on a class 2 hitch and an electric brake system on the vehicle, we found out that we had to run the van in 3rd gear and not overdrive.. Also found out the Town and Country has had reported transmission problems pulling loads. Then found out that towing up in the Smokey Mountains where we have 7/8 degree mountain roads was a no no.. So the van went and purchased a 2012 Ford F150 XLT crew cab pickup.. Pulling the 2000 pound plus popup is no problem now.. You really have to empty out the van and keep popup weight to a minimum to protect the transmission.. There was a transmission cooler in the van but boy was the engine compartment hot..
