Adding solar

I have a 2017 t12rb a frame that is "solar ready". I've purchased a 100W panel, I know where the external SAE plug is but not sure where to install a controller, or if I need one? My understanding is I need one to safeguard overcharging. (I don't have the Zamp brand so I've ordered the reverse polarity adapter) I'm not tech savvy with solar so looking for help! Thanks in advance

If you check for voltage at SAE connector and it shows battery voltage then it's wired direct to the battery. I used double sided tape to attach the SCC to the pack of my panel.
