All lights automatically turn on - new GeoPro

Hi everyone, just wondering if there’s been updates to this issue. I purchased a 2025 Geopro 19BHS last month and immediately started having this issue. I found this thread pretty quick and followed y’all’s advice and downloaded the update which fixed it initially, but I’m back to phantom lights coming on at night again. Tried the battery switch and no luck. Don’t know what caused it to resurface. I’ve reached out to Forest River via email, but don’t expect a quick response given the holiday coming up and of course I have family coming to town that plan on staying in said camper in my yard 🤦‍♂️ . Anyways. Thanks in advance to any info.

The only other thing that I recall was necessary … was to be sure the panel was sleeping when the software/firmware drivers are installed

What software/driver versions are you showing?

I’m showing 2.0.1.8 / 2.4.8.0
Same, I have the latest drivers and yeah I put it in sleep mode during the update. I don’t know… it seemed to be fine and I even took it out for a weekend with no issues, but I remember looking at the panel before we came home the last morning and thought, hey the button lights have been on for a long time and now right back to square one. So annoying.

I’m sure Gavin can figure it out … his extension is 121 … please keep this group updated in case there’s more we need to do next Spring

I have been able to get assistance directly from WFCO with this same problem on my 2025 G19FD. There is a firmware patch available (see attachment for additional info). Here are a couple of WFCO contacts you could reach out to for further assistance:

Thank you! I don’t want to speak too soon, but I watched the YouTube video and followed the instructions and it solved my panel issue with it not going to sleep. We will see if the rest of the lights remain off. I’ll keep you updated. 🤞

Update: I’ve successfully gone one whole night without spontaneous illumination. What I’ve done is update the panel to the latest firmware while the device is in sleep mode (which I previously did with no fix), then in Gdoiron’s attachment followed the video instructions to further “reset” the panel by entering setup mode, cycling to lights 5 and 6 even though the button for said lights don’t exist on my device, and turning both lights on. Then voice commanding “all lights on” “all lights off”. Cycle back though setup mode to lights 5 and 6 and turn them back off. At this point the bug is fixed, but you can do voice command “I’m home” to confirm by the panel buttons NOT lighting up. Also just got off the phone with Gavin from WFCO while writing this and he confirmed the issue should be permanently resolved.

Thanks Tentmaker. I just received a call back from WFCO Technical Support and it looks like my problems related to the PwrPro panel are “temporarily” fixed. I sat “temporarily” because I have to avoid certain voice commands to keep problem from resurfacing. (Like “ I’m Home, or any command or phone app setting that would turn lights on to full brightness). As others have mentioned, they are working on a firmware patch to address this issue. In the meantime, I plan to just disable voice commands and not use the phone app as others have suggested.

If anyone is having similar issues, I suggest you call Gavin at WFCO Tech Support and he will walk you through the fix for your particular issue. My fix did not involve a firmware update, but rather involved accessing power modules located in hidden compartments, cutting power off, unplugging and replugging cables, turning power back on, etc. Everyone’s layout is different so it would be better to call for instructions. Gavin’s phone number is 574-294-8997 ext 121. He was extremely helpful and said I could share his number on this forum.
Good Luck and Happy Camping!
Thank you so much for the number. I called Gavin and he was able to walk me through the reset sequence and it is fixed!

I have this issue, with new firmware installed, power clear and going in and out of setting mode do not fix it. I turned off the voice control to see if that improves things. I suspect it's all EMI and poor grounding.

WFCO tech support says if you did not put the panel to sleep before the firmware update, you need to proceed through the steps in this video:
This, they say, will resolve the problem and you will see it because the panel will go to sleep, which it doesn't do right now (the lights stay on full bright).

This looks like it clears data for the unused lights 5 and 6. There are no buttons for 4, 5, and 6 on my panel, and I guess the outputs for them are not populated on the power units, which are in the bathroom cabinet. This, I guess, has confused their firmware. Their firmware is still broken for our special version of the panel if it needs this, and this is a bit of a kludge, but I'll go through it.

I followed the instructions in the above video _exactly_ and the panel went to sleep, which it never has done before. All panel lights but the mic light go out, but remote and voice functions are still available. If you push a button, the lights will go on until the panel lock timeout, which you can set in the app.

I had this exact same issue.

Remembering the days when a simple light switch was all we needed.

More Tech = More Trouble
You are so right about a simple on and off switch. If the monitor panel goes bad you have no control of the rv lights, slide if so equipped, water pump, water heater, etc.

Not 100% sure, but it seems the problem was resolved for me by installing the most recent software/firmware update to the controller and then doing a full power off reboot

FR and WFCO could do a better job communicating … if they’re gonna start dabbling in the digital realm
This problem with the lights turning on by themselves has been going on for about two years now. Still no definite solution only try this, try that it may and may not work.
