The New Year is now upon us and I'm sure lots of "resolutions". Beyond them any special trips in the near future

For myself I am leaving in two days on a trip to the SW with no set return date although I told my daughter id be back by Easter.

Only set destination is Quartzsite for the RV show. Don't know where I'll stop on the way or where I'll go after that.

Any others with similar plans in the new year?

Yep, this cold weather coming through in a couple days just changed my route(plans). Not sure where to yet. I hit my only set destinations on 10/27 and 11/19.
Just noticed your location, a lot like mine Nov-April. :)

My wife and I will be doing one of my bucket list trips. This one is from Wisconsin to Alaska. We already have someone staying at our house for the summer so our return date is unknown. I have a problem with taking my time ( a little bit ADHD) but will do my best with taking my time and enjoying the trip at a leasurely pace.

We have the Alcan Highway Milepost book that I have been circling and highlighting many things to do and talking to many people that have done the trip.

I am really looking forward to a trip like this for over 20 years.

Mike, you seem to head to Quartzite most every year. I keep jumping from one side of the fence to the other. Not sure what I’d do when I get there. Wife has no desire to go. Real world, why Quartzite? You and I don’t live too far from each other.

Why? Here are my reasons:
It's warmer than at home in Jan-Feb

I like the RV show and adjacent "Market Place (or Flea Market if one prefers)

Camping/Boondocking is cheap $40 for 14 days and renewable for additional 14 day periods. (Provides access to Dump Station, Fresh Water, and Trash Disposal)

Lots of Sun si solar panels allow me to be energy independent.

Lots of space to ride my e-bike.

Lots of people to meet

Lots of hiking areas.

From here I'll also explore area around Yuma and then over to Tucson, Tombstone, Bisbee for more exploring.

Previous years I had to go back to take care of a house but now the house "is in the bank" and my home goes where I go.

Dang, TitanMike, your words are truly inspiring - "leaving in two days...no set return date." Maybe that is the magic that pulls us toward trailer camping. In 2023, it was our 40th wedding anniversary, so we got a camping trailer and made two trips in it. Last year was a wash. Cancer popped up on my radar, and we did no camping at all. I am cancer-free now, no medications, so we plan to start out with short hops to nearby campgrounds as a warmup, then we'll expand our scope. Hope the world can keep its stuff together long enough for us to enjoy some camping.

Sadly I know how cancer can change, not just plans, but your life. My wife of 31 years was taken by cancer 8 years ago.

That's when I realized it was time to stop putting off doing the things that were just being put off time and time again.

That was driven home a year later when I had a heart attack and bypass surgery.
So far so 👍

My condolences on your wife's passing. And happy to hear all is well on the cardiovascular front!
