That stuff appears to be real bad **** the nurse had to gown up like she was going into a nuclear reactor just to open the bag that contained another bag that contains the tiniest little drip bag I ever seen

Radioactive iodine. It concentrates in the cancers because they are so vascular (blood vessel concentration). Pretty quickly eliminated by the kidneys and passes.

When you are in for the next treatment, ask the doctor this very important question with a worried and completely straight face: "Doctor (or Nurse), when I go home tonight, will I glow in the dark?"

My late wife would never ask that. I always had to do it for her. One nurse actually responded, "Look, if that happens, call me right away at this number, 234-555-1212. I've never seen that and will come right over."

I’m sorry you and your family have to go through this. I enjoy your contributions to this forum. Lots of knowledge.

Got a joke..why are women evacuated first in a disaster?
….so men can think of a solution in silence!

Wishing you all the best

Any day you can live by Willie Nelson's song is a good one: "I woke up still not dead again today." You've got fight in you.

Even non-radioactive chemo agents require full PPE. Extended exposure can cause cancer in medical and family members.

I was warned about this while late wife was receiving chemo. Also warned about any of her body fluids should I assist her with cleaning.

Yes indeed, it's all bad 💩.

Can get use to this new lifestyle
No one expecting me to do much
Todays excersize was to drag directors chair outside in the shade and just watch the world go calmly by

No watching re-runs of the first 48 or deadliest disasters

I may not be in condition to answer a lot of stuff... as I started my new therapy today

ask TitanMike he's got a a good grip on doing electrical /solar stuffs
we just gotta convince him to get outta Washington state more often

that's when hugging Geoffrey really pays off.
About to enter this realm. Hang in there and thanks for all you have given freely.

All us old farts with lots of crappy stuff

We should make a meetup one day and swap stories on who got the biggest pill bottles?
A meeting like that could go on longer than many would have time left.

I'd be totally left behind because my total expense for prescription meds doesn't meet the insurance deductible (which which is ridiculously low anyway)

You can pay for some of mine if you like
I gots plenty now

Stroke
Cardio
And now this!

I sure P off someone

Sending prayers your way. In my career as a nurse seeing a bear like that guarding a patient would have resulted in talking someone else into doing the blood draw!
I vote for watching all the good old Red Skeleton videos especially the Gertrude and Heathcliff seagull bits. As Red always said at the close of his show may God Bless.

So Geoffrey and I got a new recliner yesterday

Been testing it out thoroughly since getting it home

So many buttons on it
Soothing heat and massage USB reclines and stands you up!

But Geoffrey keeps hogging it

You better not get too attached after my next dose of that evil yukky stuff on Thursday

Tell Geoffrey he needs to get out of your spot and take a brush to his hair. He needs to fluff his hair to show off his handsomeness. One of the consequences of being a well loved bear.

Does that fancy chair have a battery backup?
Spouse had a hospital bed at home that stopped working when the electricity went out and it created a crisis because it was in an awkward position. Only when a hospice aid came to help and she remembered that she had a small inverter that plugged into a power port in my car were we able to get the hospital bed in a more comfortable position. I had one, but it was in the rig in storage.

Best of luck with your treatment on Thursday. We'll be thinking of you.

Yup neighbor got a lift chair and was in it when the power failed & couldn't get-up on her own. Don't recall if another neighbor helped her out or if she called local EMS but I put a cheapo $45 UPS on it (and her telephone charging station there at her chair) and it's saved her a few times now. Too many power failures where she is.
