We have a 2018 Forester 3011ds .Our back up lights are not working. We have a Ford E450 chassis. Anyone know where I might check for a burned out fuse? Any other suggestions as to why they aren’t working. On a side note the dash panel lights are also not working. Very annoying as we can’t see the speedometer. We checked fuses and even bought a new roller switch at NAPA but they still won’t work. Not sure if the two issues could be related.

If your 2018 Forester is like my 2018 Sunseeker, it’s built on a 2017 Ford E450 chassis. Look at the VIN plate at the base of your windshield on the dash in front of the driver seat. The 10th digit should be a H for 2017, or J for 2018.

Regardless…..this link should identify your fuses for the vehicle….not the house.

For the backup light issue - Removed the tail light, check wiring (it was good) and find out that the LEDs for the backup "reverse" light in the tail light assembly were not working and since its a sealed unit, they can't be repaired. Just had to replace the tail light on both side. The original "cheap" tail light are no longer available so I installed a new model tail light with a larger footprint.

I added to my reverse lights by bolting a set of led fog/driving lights to the underside of my rear bumper and wiring them into the factory reverse wiring. They are 10 times brighter than the OEM ones. I have no excuse now if I back into something in the dark now!
