I was in the process of moving the top wire to the bottom terminal, since the battery switch was not working

If the center of the pic is of the disconnect switch, the two wires marked with a question mark most probably are power to an onboard inverter and the other to your 12v distribution panel. The latter will serve double duty to charge your battery from the converter.
