Bedroom overhead light USB power?

Has anyone managed to find the wattage of the USB charger on the overhead reading lights in a Europa 31SS? That seems to be the easiest to get to USB cable that doesn't involve possibly tripping over it (like the bed mounted ones) and I'm considering figuring out how to mount a MagSafe plate on the wall attached to those so that my phone can use this night mode as a clock

2.1Amps at 5volts = 10.5 watts

But I would go to the 12V source to the lap and get you USB Power from that feed (not via USB plug).

Thank you great info!

The nearest USB outlets are the one on the all forward and the one on the bed pedastal rearward (which I moved from the foot of the bed up further towards the head, and those are pretty bad locations for this purpose as the wire will get in the way. If the plan I have works I'll likely try and figure a way to grab power under the bed and wire the chargers in somewhere more permanently.

I found the the valances over the bed north south windows make good shelfs to rest phones and clock and such on. Using th lamp USB plugs to charge from when setting items on those "shelfs". Having a USB plug above the valance "shelf" would be a big plus along with plugs by the tiny night sands. The one on the bed box opposite the wardrobe is in a poor position for sure. I wil note in our 31SS, that USB plug has a considerable amount of "spare" wire that could be use to relocate it elsewhere. And the 12V wiring to the upper lamp / USB plugs is routed from there and visible in the under bed platform area.

Cheers!

Exactly if you look here you'll see I already relocated that one and 3d printed a plate to cover the old hole: https://www.forestriverforums.com/forums/f240/europa-tips-tricks-and-mods-261179-4.html#post2898188

Do the night stands on the Europa not have the phone chargers built into them? If they're there, they might push down/pop up and have usb port(s) right there.

Nope nothing in the little shelves by the bed. Plus those are so small things get knocked off easily. My plan is to use a MagSafe charger for the iPhones we have and I think I'll 3d print something that will clip behind the headboard of the bed, and hold the charger, then the phones can be in the landscape orientation that put's them in a night mode, where they'll show a dim red clock at night making it easier to check the time when I wake up.

No worries, was just trying to help. Our XL has chargers there that work great for us. Hope your plan works out for ya. :trink39:
