We went on our first adventure, and hmmm the wet bay.
RV FR3

there is not much room in there and i don't like having to connect and disconnect Fresh water and Black water hoses in the same place.

i want to extend the Black tank to the edge of the RV underneath.

On the fresh side i see why people purchase the 90 degree connections.
(that problem solved)

Black Tank Hose
i have seen pictures of other people's RV where they have the hose under the RV and the connection to the dump hose at the edge of the RV. I have not found any premade kits.

So unless there is a kit, i need a short flex hose, and a straight hose about 3 feet I think, to get the extension out to the fender.

How do i mount this to the bottom of the RV, can i use self mounting screws and some silicon to seal it?

Additionally Todd from RVTechcourse suggests moving all components inside the RV, like the regulator and filiters how do i know where to drill into the wall in the wet bay and how deep?

any advise or parts to buy would be greatly appreciated

Phillip

I can't help with the first part, but as far as the regulator and water filter....
Unless you need to move it inside to protect from freezing, some recommend attaching the regulator to the park faucet, attaching the water filter to the regulator, then attach the hose to the filter.....the order.... faucet, water pressure regulator, water filter, hose to the rig.
I wouldn't put the regulator and the water filter inside because of the possibility of a water leak at any of those connections.

I'm not sure what you're referring to with black and fresh water hoses. If you're referring to the faucet hose connection, we use a y connector and put a piece of colored electrical tape on the fresh water side so that it never gets confused.

Moved thread from the Modifications and Updates section to the Motorhome section's FR3 sub-forum for better help from other FR3 owners and possible factory support.

are you talking about the black tank flush port ?

Black water flush port is a usually a long ways away from any actual black water
the risk of cross contamination is low...

I still use separate hoses just to be safer... different colors for the hoses

moving filters
any chance you live and camp in areas that will freeze...
moving them to a heated area would stop any problems of freezing

OR add heat to the compartment that has the filter
DOUBLE check your compartment is not allready setup for some heat

If you don't intend to camp during winter ...study up on how to winterize
or store the RV in a heated storage

No thank you, all RVs have a wet bay and all are different. I posted where i wanted it posted.

No....

The black tank hose, you have to take your 3 inch hose and connect it up into the bay from underneath.
i have seen a couple on Youtube where they have extended that connection under the RV to the edge of the RV and put a cap and slide valve there. Now you can connect to sewer and never even open the wet bay door. In addition you never have an accident in your wet bay with black tank spill.

i wil try and find a picture and post it

I have a FR3 and know exactly what you are talking about with the black tank connection. I had a spill in the fresh water bay first time I dumped the black tank. I learned that you need to be careful all three bayonet mounts on hose need to be engaged not just the two you can see! I couldn't see any way to move the connection out of the wet bay because it is at the rear of the motorhome. Back there anything accessible below motorhome will probably end up getting damaged. If you figure it out let us know!
