Upon arrival at Pirateland in SC campsite was all ruts. An hour after I complained some guy with a rake showed up. Not much help and not a good way to start a vacation after driving a 1000 miles.

We've been there 5 times or so. Never had a problem. I know they are usually fully booked in July so I guess moving to another site was not a possibility?

Looks like from your pics that they brought in some sand to fill in? Were you thinking they would have sodded it? Did they try to resolve to your satisfaction?

Sand was brought in by previous camper to soak up some of the mud I guess. Ruts and mounds made by him leaving. No resolution just some guy with a rake trying to level it a little. Sites should be inspected before they are rented out again. Completely booked no other sites.

There has been so much rain and flooding lately I have to say I'm not surprised. There are some things that can't be resolved as easily as others. Are you in an inland site or beach site? We stayed inland and the site was extremely tight but a well maintained site...... Just spray for ants as there are tons if them. Hope it starts to get better for you.

That's why I always stay at beach campgrounds with pavement...muddy ruts would drive me insane!

We will be there starting August 5 staying in the Inland Section, what section was your lot?

We are in the beach area site 164. They have some cement areas here, but they were all full.

Thanks. I hope the rain stays away. I think they told me we would have a paved lot so I hope so.
