I'm a remote worker. My wife is not. But she's going to between jobs for a bit so we wanted to make some trips. We are primarily interested in the lower appelation mountain area, so starting at chattanooga, Eastern Tennessee, Western Carolina, as far north as southern Virginia. Possibly North Georgia as well. I use campground reviews to try to get some info but there are so many. I was wondering if anyone had stayed at a great campground in there, the only two catches are it needs to be reasonable, like 50 bucs a night or less and it has to have either good wifi or good verison signal because I'll be working from the camper. I'm hoping it would be a good environment for hiking and bicycling etc as well. If the wife gets bored she'll drive me nuts.

chattanooga - Harrison Bay SP
Eastern Tennessee - Fall Creek Falls SP
Western Carolina - Stone Mountain SP
southern Virginia - Claytor Lake SP

As you can see State Parks are on our favorites list, just after anything Federal.
Happy Camping!

Moved thread from the General Community Discussion section to the On the Road/Travel Chat section's Eastern USA sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to that sub-forum and not general questions.

OP, since you don't seem to have a firm idea yet of exactly where you are going it would be hard to suggest campgrounds. What most of us do I believe is pick out destinations usually by towns (or cities) and set a route between destinations. Research on Campground Reviews, Wanderlog is a great resource, Roadtrippers (free edition) TripAdvisor etc., for things that will interest you and your wife when you are not working what you would like to do and see.

Then, when you have it narrowed down to different locations it will be much easier for members to suggest particular CGs around those locations with the amenities you need.

Or, change your inquiry entirely to what are some good places to visit in the South Eastern U.S. and build your trip from there.
