I interested in anyone's experiences with camping in northern Alabama's state parks...Desoto is of particular interest. Does anyone have experiences to pass along?

We stayed at Monte Sano in 2012. It was absolutely stunning and big rig friendly. Very few sewer hookup sites, but we were just using the camper as a hotel. The hill getting to it wasn't any fun- had we known there was a better way (which we came down), we would have taken it.

Dave,
We were just there in October. Beautiful park and country side. We were there with a group of about 20 RV's. All of the sites are roomy and paved. Some sites are not level, but you get to pick the site you want. They do not reserve sites. I had a pull through site and I had a good 30 feet of room at both ends of my camper! Here is a link to some pics that I took there:

I will definitely go back there!
